Many people predict that China will be the largest economy in the world in the 21st century and will soon surpass the United States.but its unique marketplace can be difficult to negotiate if you know nothing about the business environment there.
1>Choose a qualified supplier
There are  many ways sourcing a qualified supplier
Internet Search
The easiest and most cost-effective place to start a search for suppliers in China is on the Internet via search engines such as Bing or Google, and B2B sourcing platforms like AlibabaGlobal Sources, and Made-in-China.com. Thousands of suppliers are listed on these sites, and you can streamline your search and increase the number of legitimate sources by filtering results for only those entries labeled as “gold member,” “verified supplier,” “onsite supplier,” or “accredited supplier.” Good reviews offer some indication that the supplier is legitimate. Some B2B sourcing platforms have endorsed service provider lists and supplier blacklists. For example, Alibaba has a list of banned members.
Social Media
Social media is not necessarily an ideal platform to identify suppliers. Only some suppliers have a social media presence, but they can be a good source for feedback or reviews of potential suppliers. Therefore, be cautious when relying on such platforms and remember to do your own due diligence as the information provided is often unverified, reviews are often anecdotal, and sample sizes may be small.
2>Verify a  qualified  Chinese suppliers
When you’re buying products from a Chinese company, a common issue is whether you’re dealing directly with a China trading company or with a factory.
Usually, a Chinese supplier has no problem sending a copy of their business license to potential customers. It is not a secret document. It is in Chinese, but shows interesting data. For example:
  • When the company was set up (does it correspond to what they told you?)
  • Registered address (is it the same as they show in their signature? if not, do they have an explanation?)
  • Invested capital (if this is 100,000 rmb, you know you are not dealing directly with a manufacturer.)
you can try to verify their business license and export qualifications with local officials or verify them via a local expert in China like CHINABIZCHECKUP
3> How to talk to the Chinese suppliers
To get around this problem, ask a new contact for their MSN or Skype user ID and chat to them online. They tend to be very friendly and enjoy talking to people who speak English as a first language (this helps them improve their communication too), plus it gives you a direct point of contact instantly.
With communication now established, you can proceed to ask questions and get them to send you pictures of stock and so on. Once we've built up a relationship, we then ask them to send me a sample order. For any genuine company, this isn't a problem and it allows us to see the quality of the product first hand. We can then be fairly certain that the company is trustworthy, and that this is the product we wish to import.
4>The question of quality
Generally, we find that Chinese suppliers are best suited for cheap generic goods (they are manufactured there so you won't find cheaper anywhere else!) that can be sold at higher rates in Western countries. For example, some of the latest trends are fashion clothing, accessories and electronic goods. These goods do not have to have a brand name in order to sell well and they can be purchased wholesale at very good prices if you are serious about importing from China.
This should give you a heads up if looking at dealing with wholesale suppliers in China! Remember, always keep an open mind, ask questions and do your research!
you can consider hiring a professional QC inspection company or sending a qualified person whom you trust. It may seem like you’re wasting time and resources, but it will not be frowned upon in China and is vital to make sure everything is running smoothly.

5>Safe payment methods
When buying from wholesalers in China, the difficulty lies in the fact that some Chinese wholesalers will only accept Western Union and wire transfer payments. These are not secure payment options so they must be treated with caution.
However, the main reason why these are the only payments accepted by some suppliers is that they are more readily available payment methods available to suppliers in China. Getting a credit card in China can be a difficult task with a lot of government regulations and strict criteria for getting a card.
Despite the risks involved with using Western Union and wire transfer, these are the methods you have to use if you want to import from China with most suppliers. To minimize this risk, our advice is to start with a fairly small shipment of goods so you are not standing to lose too much money if everything falls apart. Then, as trust is established, gradually build up your order over time.
Find a  buying office or purchasing agent service can solve the problems for the clients from the beginning to the end, you'll save valuable time and resources that you can devote to your business.
